Accessible Bathrooms Merseyside

Level Access from £4,700

When stepping over a bath rail stops being easy, the bathroom becomes the most dangerous room in the house. We fit level access showers, walk-in baths and properly fixed grab rails across St Helens, Liverpool, Warrington, Widnes and Runcorn.

Specified well, none of it has to look like a hospital fitting.

Why Choose Us for an Accessible Bathroom?

Designed Not Prescribed

Fittings chosen so the room still reads as a bathroom.

Free First Home Visit

We measure, assess the space and tell you what is possible.

One Team Throughout

The same fitters from strip-out to final seal.

One Year Guarantee

Materials and workmanship covered for twelve months, and £1m public liability throughout.

What We Fit

Rarely all of these at once. Which ones matter depends on the person using the room.

Level Access Showers

A tray recessed flush with the floor, or a fully tanked wet room. Nothing to step over.

Walk-In Baths & Showers

A hinged door in the bath side, or a low threshold with a fold-down seat.

Grab Rails That Suit the Room

Fixed into something structural, positioned where weight is taken, in finishes that match the taps.

Slip-Resistant Flooring

Rated for wet barefoot use rather than chosen on looks. The cheapest safety change available.

Comfort-Height WCs & Basins

Set for standing and sitting, with space beside for a carer or a frame.

Wider Doorways & Turning Space

Where a wheelchair or frame needs to get in, the doorway and floor area both have to allow it.

Cheaper to Design In Than to Retrofit

A level-access shower fitted during a planned renovation is a normal part of the job. The floor is already up, the waste is already moving and the tanking goes in as one operation.

The same shower fitted urgently into a finished bathroom two years later means lifting a new floor, re-routing a waste set at the wrong level, and re-tiling a room that was tiled recently. Identical result, considerably higher cost.

Help With the Cost

Local councils in England administer the Disabled Facilities Grant, which can contribute towards adapting a bathroom where the work is needed for a disability. It is means tested, assessed by an occupational therapist, and applied for through the council rather than through a fitter.

The NHS guidance on home adaptations explains how an assessment works and what an occupational therapist looks at, which is worth reading before you apply.

If you rent, this comes first. Private tenants need the landlord’s written permission before any adaptation. Council and housing association tenants need their landlord’s written approval, and many have their own rules about who may carry out the work. Leaseholders in a flat usually need consent from the freeholder or managing agent. Grant-funded work also normally has to be approved before it starts, so contact your local authority’s housing or adaptations team before committing to anything.

This page is general information about how this work usually goes, not advice about your property or your entitlement. Responsibility for obtaining grant approval, landlord or freeholder consent and any building regulations approval rests with the property owner or tenant. We are happy to provide a written scope and costing to support an application.

Talk Through What the Room Can Take

We look at the space, say honestly what is possible and what is not, and put a written scope together. If a wet room will not work in your bathroom we will tell you, rather than sell you one.
